Literartistry exhibition - Art - Wallpaper.com - International Design Interiors Fashion Travel
Art 'Fiona found nestled in her tea party forest' by Lola from the book 'Sector 7' by David Weisner. Literartistry exhibition Art The notion of art inspired by literature is certainly nothing new. Just as Michelangelo was moved to pick up his paintbrush after reading Dante's The Divine Comedy so countless artists have been inspired in his wake by the written word. And at the Corey Helford Gallery, in California’s Culver City, art inspired by books takes a dramatic surge forward. ‘Literartistry’ is an exhibition entirely devoted to works of art inspired by the favourite books of contemporary American artists. More than 50 artists, emerging and established from all corners of the continent have searched the recesses of their bookshelves and created something in response to a particular title or character that has touched them. Familiar, perhaps predictable, titles feature quite a bit: Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz and A Clockwork Orange to name a few. However the exhibition as a whole is particularly intriguing in seeing how a raft of creative minds have translated many of their and our favourite characters onto canvas. And the charming gallery has assembled all the books in a loft library above the exhibition space lest you're in danger of judging any of them by their canvas alone... A Clockwork Orange - Wikipedia

SparkNotes: A Clockwork Orange: Important Quotations Explained
Important Quotations Explained 1. What’s it going to be then, eh? Explanation for Quotation #1 2. The attempt to impose upon man, a creature of growth and capable of sweetness, to ooze juicily at the last round the bearded lips of God, to attempt to impose, I say, laws and conditions appropriate to a mechanical creation, against this I raise my sword-pen. Explanation for Quotation #2 3. They don’t go into the cause of goodness, so why of the other shop?... Badness is of the self, the one, the you or me on our oddy knockies, and that self is made by old Bog or God and is his great pride and radosty. But the not-self cannot have the bad, meaning they of the government and the judges and the schools cannot allow the bad because they cannot allow the self. And is not our modern history, my brothers, the story of brave malenky selves fighting these big machines? Explanation for Quotation #3 4.

A Clockwork Orange: Special Edition Review by: Christopher Bligh Warner | 1971 | R | 136 minutes Directed by: Stanley Kubrick As a person coming of age, the one thing early in this reviewer's life that stood was his introduction into film and it started with a decoder box atop the television in the living room. This decoder box was a descrambler for a channel known as Wometco Home Theater aka WHT.

i remember watching fight club for the first time, and thinking- man- tyler durden's formula for anarchy and gaining membership seems like something the joker should or could do... to run a whacked out criminal organization in secret and have guys that would obey his every command....
Hmmm J: Pilot, I'm bringing Miss Kitty back from the OK Corral. Is there any word on Aeryn or Doc Rygel yet? Alright....
